Stunningly beautiful game with briljant animations, very good gameplay and a classic good tracklist!
It's time again to strap on the plastic guitar and hammer away on the plastic drumkit. And this time on the timeless songs of the creaters of modern pop music: The Beatles. New to this game is that Guitar Hero equipment does actually work with the game. For guitars and microphone this is all pretty straightforward, but for the drums you might be hitting cymbals on the Guitar Hero kit when you actually have to play a drum. But let's not get in to little details in this stunningly wonderful game.
The Game
With your guitar, drumkit and microphone you have to do the same as all other music games. Sing along with texts in the right pitch and make sure you hit the right coloured note on the right moment. Within The Beatles: Rock Band there are two modes; the quickplay and the story. If you just want to play your favourite songs, go along with quickplay. If you are more interested in a chronological story of the The Beatles, go along with story-mode.
You will see the Fab Four change from short haired, sharp dressed rock n roll gods to long haired studio musicians with beards. During the first years you will play your songs in famous concerts environments. The later records are actually more interesting because the songs have great and weird animations that are influenced by movies and pre-videoclips of The Beatles. By playing all the songs, you will actually see that most songs are very very complicated and that Ringo wasn't a bad drummer after all. Play the song in the highest difficulty and you will be challenged to the max.
By making sure you play the songs very well, you will get some exclusive pictures in your virtual photo album and you can buy some other gear. Otherwise there isn't much to say actually. There is the wi-fi mode where you can play against others on the web and there are some other little things. But that doesn not matter much because all you actually want is to play these classic songs.
